We should have known. It seemed to have been very quiet amongst our musical friends during the weeks leading up to our move from Beddington to Norfolk; and as Easter Monday 1995 was our wedding day, we shouldn't have been too surprised that a great deal of subterfuge had taken place to provide us with a fabulous entertainment - not only by many of the Chimes crew, but also members of St Mary's congregation, including the Families Group, the handbell ringers and the Mothers' Union. It couldn't have been a better farewell. Especially to be thanked are Melanie and the Akhursts for co-ordinating, and Leon for being MD. More photos can be found here (courtesy of Melanie Short); the lovely image below (click on it for a larger version) shows nearly all the gang who had performed that night back at the Rectory after the concert - except Melanie, who sadly had already gone home, having a fair distance to travel. Thank you, all.
